A Shred Above
On Saturday May 5th from 9am until 12pm, Rockingham Insurance Agency, located at 202 North Van Buren Road Eden, North Carolina, will sponsor a free document shredding event. While many may over look this event as something they may not need to attend, we encourage those individuals to rethink their thought process for a moment. Do you have prescriptions for medications, bank statements, credit card applications, bills, various articles of mail containing your address, as well as any other sensitive documents containing your social security number and various other forms of personal information laying around your house? If you answer yes to even one of these questions, you should try your best to attend this Saturday’s shred event. While throwing those documents away may seem safe at first, the sad reality is that anyone can still access those documents because they haven’t been properly destroyed. Shredding such sensitive documents, whether on your own or at Saturday’s event, is the best way to guarantee your personal information remains safe and in the right hands, and what a better way to do this than at a free shredding event, right?
In addition to the personal benefits, this shred event allows each and every individual participating to aid in the process of benefitting their community. The Rockingham Insurance Agency shred event is partnered with the Friends of the Eden Public Library to help support the growth of literature and ensure a safe space for community members of all ages to come together and share the wonderful resources the Eden library has to offer including: new book arrivals; computer classes; weekly story times and movie nights; various programs for young and beginning readers to grow and strengthen their reading skills; movie and video game rentals; audio books; an Outreach Department that brings the library’s various resources to those residing in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, as well as those who are homebound; and so many more. All that the Eden library offers, a list of its resources, as well as the dates and times of its events can be found on the website: http://www.rcpl.org/eden.html. While this Saturday’s shred event is free, donations will be accepted and will be given to the Friends of the Eden Public Library to help grow and support the influence our library has within our community. Even if you find that you don’t have any documents that need shredding, please feel free to come out on Saturday and support your local library. In our minds, this shred event not only allows you a personal benefit in the shredding of your sensitive documents, but also an outlet to actively give back to your community. Your donations at the Rockingham Insurance Agency shred event this Saturday to the Friends of the Eden Public Library could possible change the atmosphere of our city and change the lives of many of our residents, thus allowing this event to be "A Shred Above!"
